Attending a rehearsal
Attending rehearsals is completely optional. You are not expected to attend if you or someone in your household is vulnerable and, of course, you must not attend if you have had a positive test. You should also not attend if you are unwell (even a cold) or have any symptoms that could be Covid-19. Please also stay at home if any member of your household has Covid or is unwell.
All players must register in advance for rehearsals – this is our contact list and our fire register.
Rehearsals for Fresh Aire! are 09:00-10:00 – please arrive early so that rehearsal can start promptly. Hot Aire! rehearsal is 10:30-12:30 but please arrive for a prompt start. It would be helpful if a few people could arrive at 08:45 to help with setting up the room.
We need to make sure that we continue to observe our Covid-19 precautions, particularly around distancing and ventilation so you need to bring your own stand and music – we won’t be asking you to share music. There should be a clear break (30 minutes) between Fresh Aire! and Hot Aire! for the room to air, so Fresh Aire! Players need to leave the room promptly at 10:00 (even if you are staying for Hot Aire!). Hot Aire! players can arrive early but not enter the rehearsal room. There will be a 30-minute break during the Hot Aire! session, and, again, players should leave the room.
You MUST bring
- Your own music stand
- Your music (if you need to borrow music, please arrive 20 minutes early)
- A mug if you want to make a drink during the break
- And your instrument!
The tuck shop will be available during the Hot Aire! break – you will be able to make a hot drink and buy snacks such as wrapped biscuits. There are no washing-up facilities so please bring your own mug.
Any player who tests positive for Covid-19 within 7 days of attending a rehearsal should notify the band immediately.
